General Paper Expectations

It must be printed double-spaced. It must have a title.  It must have a thesis, an identifiable sentence in the first paragraph or two that is a statement of the main point the rest of your paper will support. Minimum length - very close to 1000 words (more is OK), which is about 4 pages, 12-point type, one inch margins.  References should be documented in some standard style.  It is not a research paper, so it's possible you might have only one reference, the article you start with.  Every paragraph should have an identifiable topic sentence that states the main point of that paragraph (usually the first sentence), and every topic sentence should clearly relate to your thesis sentence.

Do not use any sort of paper or plastic binder.  A separate title page is optional.

Late papers will be handled on an individual basis, and circumstances may or may not warrant a grade reduction.  If your paper isn't ready to hand in on the due date and you can't present a clear summary of it to the class on the due date, a grade penalty for lateness is very likely.
