1) Explain, in your own words, what Montero (probably) means by "nonreductive physicalism," and how it is incompatible with "eliminativism."  (188)  Suggestion: look up, in philosophical encyclopedias or such like (online, library, or department room 260) terms like materialism, physicalism, reductionism, interactionism, dualism, epiphenomenalism, emergent properties, supervenience.

2) What does it seem that Montero herself would say about the assertion that rocks are physical?
Are they?  Aren't they?  Or what?

3) Explain Hempel's dilemma.  What does Montero think of it, and why?

4) Explain the lesson or recommendation that Montero draws from her paper.
